ZombieHover guide: survive from level 1 to level 300
ZombieHover is a free zombie survival game you play in your browser, with no download and no install. You hold off waves of zombies from a top-down view, build a base with walls and auto-turrets, and climb to level 300, alone or with friends. This guide covers the controls, your first minutes, base building, weapons, every world and advanced tips.
The game's interface is in French for now. This guide gives the French names in brackets so you can find things in the menus.
Play for freeWhat is ZombieHover?
A top-down multiplayer zombie .io game. You defend your HQ (« QG ») against ever stronger waves of zombies. If the HQ falls, the game is lost and a new one starts a few seconds later.
Between waves you gather resources, craft weapons (real ones and silly ones: banana launcher, homing chicken, duck mortar, nuclear toaster…), build defenses and drive vehicles. The higher you go, the more the world changes: larvae, cyborgs, chimera ants, demons, then the Moon, and Everest with its dragons.
ZombieHover runs on a computer with keyboard and mouse. There are no touch controls, so it does not work on phones or tablets.
Start in 2 minutes
- Create your account in the lobby: a username and a password, no e-mail. The account is created the first time you log in (« Connexion / Créer »).
- Pick a mode: friends game (« Entre potes »: your own game, friends join with a 4-letter code) or Ranked (Saturday and Sunday).
- Your HQ is placed with a 2-minute base shield. Use it to gather with E and place your first buildings (Tab, Buildings tab, « Constructions »).
- Start the wave: press N for auto-ready. The next round starts as soon as everyone is ready.
- Every level unlocks a craft: open the Tab menu after each wave to see what's new.

The worlds in detail
The ghost train (level 11)
A 5-car train loops around the map in about 3 minutes and stops for 5 seconds at 8 stations. Press E to board at a station or while it moves: nobody can fight on board, so you are untouchable.
The gods' gate and Olympus (levels 40-49, 90-99, 140-149, 190-199)
The sky tears open and a gate appears. Beyond it wait the 12 Olympian gods: Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Athena, Ares, Apollo, Artemis, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Hermes and Dionysus, each with their own fighting style. Defeat them, then reach the exit alive. Each god drops divine loot and has a 1 in 3 chance to drop its vehicle item. Careful: if you die up there, the gods come down on your base.
Larva world (level 50)
Every creature turns into a larva, and Mama Larva is waiting.
The Moon (from level 70)
Four boss zones appear on the map. They drop star fragments to build a launch pad, and off you go to the Moon. Up there, no more waves: red clouds rush at your base and drop a giant alien with its horde. Place your lunar base, gather regolith, helium-3 and lunite, earn titan cores and build your titans. Colossi must be fought as a group, and 3 blue alien fortresses grow up to 96 defenses. Their general holds the mountain gear for Everest. At the very end: the observatory and the single-use atomic launcher.
Cyborg world (level 100)
Cyborgs carry an energy shield worth half their HP: break it before you can hurt the flesh.
Hell towers (level 110)
5 towers on the map, E to enter, on foot or as a titan. Four floors, each harder than the last: the Pits, the Forge, the Pyre, the Throne. At the top: only bosses, plus the infernal lord (400 times the HP, and he comes back to life once). Each tower rewards an item for titans only.
Chimera ants (level 150)
A queen builds her colony, up to 24 defenses. Killing her gives the vehicle healer.
The two cyclopes (level 162)
Brontes and Arges start from opposite edges and walk to the center. Once face to face, each of their blows sends a shockwave across the whole map every 4 seconds. Kill them before they meet. If one dies, the other goes berserk and charges the bases. Dealing at least half the damage earns a giant potion.
Everest and its dragons (level 182)
A mountain rises north of the center, with 8 dragons sleeping on their eggs, including the dragon king Æthernox at the summit. You climb it by ropes, and you need mountain gear. The French Everest and dragons guide has every detail.
Demon world (level 200)
Winged demons fly over walls and teleport. Their bosses fall, regenerate, then come back once.
Weekend ranked
Ranked mode opens on Saturday and Sunday (Paris time). Each map holds 8 residents, and a new map opens when yours is full. The portal in the center (500 gold) takes you to the other maps.
On those days at 5 pm Paris time, the world mega boss drops in for 15 minutes. Deal at least 2% of its HP to earn 🎟 tickets. 10 tickets trade for 1 🏆 trophy. The best players show up on the leaderboard, then a new season begins.
Battle pass
50 tiers over a 3-month season, with a free track and a premium track (€4.99). Rewards are cosmetics (outfit, trail, vehicle, town hall, defenses). The free track also gives one-hour boost tokens: speed, ×2 resources, light. The premium track is cosmetics only. You earn XP in ranked and through daily and weekly challenges. Friends games do not advance the pass.
Advanced tips
- Joining a high-level game: the first time you arrive in a game past level 15, an orbital laser guards your area for 10 minutes. It vaporizes every enemy except the world boss.
- The ghost train is a shelter: nobody can touch you on board. Hop on when things go wrong.
- Go as a team: fighting the tower lord alone, you only deal 10% of your damage. Same for the Moon colossi.
- Prepare Everest on the Moon: mountain gear comes from the alien fortress general, one piece at a time.
- Kill the ant queen: her vehicle healer keeps your vehicles alive near the HQ.
- The cyclopes: hit them while they walk; they do not attack until they reach the center.
